Lubbock Atheists have huge success leading the January invocation

It was a proud moment for not only the Atheists of Lubbock, but for anyone interested in the equality of our community as a whole, when Tracey Benefield of The Lubbock Atheists stood up to lead the January invocation at the city hall meeting.

While many were skeptical, when the day came to give the invocation; The Atheists of Lubbock were met with an overwhelming amount of support and good wishes from all walks of life. The invocation was eloquently written, asking that the city counsel members use judgement and reason when making their decisions, and also calling for unity among the community as well.

It's easy to understand why the Atheists of Lubbock have had dozens of mentions not only online, but in the news as well! Some focus on criticizing the nay Sayers, some focus on the confusion as to why the Atheists would want to be there at all, and some give an objective point of view from both sides to let the viewer decide how they feel. However mentioned, The Lubbock Atheists are causing a buzz of conversation in the community, which is a positive repercussion of putting in a lot of effort towards change! Hopefully this conversation leads to better understanding, and unity for all.
